[2023/10/01 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: You set off down the Cinderella path; you're not gone far when you notice you seem to be somewhere else... this is clearly a very strange realm. There's forests all round, and a farmhouse, with a big field, and what looks like someone sitting on the porch, knees up, head in hands. From the farmhouse, faint sounds of cursing and clattering.

[2023/10/01 16:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: The someone on the porch is wearing the typical dress of a farmers' daughter - hard wearing skirt and a pinafore, with a broom propped up nearby. As you approach, they look up - it's one of the goblins! - and they say, sounding -very- sad... "I can't get to the ball... unless... can you help my fairy godmother?"
[2023/10/01 16:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "....what help does a fairy godmother need from humble travelers like us?" Debbens left eyebrow is raised high enough that it may be trying to escape her face.
[2023/10/01 16:16] Alicia Frakture: /me sighs."More Goblins? this is getting old."
[2023/10/01 16:17] Sonja Bikergrrl: "That's a very good question! But I'm sure brave adventurers such as yourself would not be so ungallant as to walk by leaving a maiden in distress!"
[2023/10/01 16:17] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): "Goblins seem to be everywhere"

[2023/10/01 16:21] Alicia Frakture: /me looks at the lady."Brave?" She looks at Debben and Dahlia. She has obviously never met us." before shrugging."What is your distress?"
[2023/10/01 16:21] Sonja Bikergrrl: "As you approach, they look up - it's one of the goblins! - "
[2023/10/01 16:22] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: (( oh, somehow I missed that bit ))
[2023/10/01 16:22] Sonja Bikergrrl: "My distress? I won't get to the ball, and my fairy godmother is having trouble!"
[2023/10/01 16:23] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: If only Debben had a wagon right now, this would be so simple.... "Where's your fairy godmother at the moment?"
[2023/10/01 16:23] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): "Maybe we can help you get to where you are needing to be."
[2023/10/01 16:24] Sonja Bikergrrl: A loud crash and a saucepan flies out of the window of the farmhouse, followed by a string of particularly salty curses. "She's in the kitchen."
[2023/10/01 16:25] Alicia Frakture: Leesha shakes her head and walks up towards the door. If you two can help this one, go for it I'm gonna check on the fairy godmama.
[2023/10/01 16:26] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "... I think I'll come with you to talk to the fairy, Leesha."
[2023/10/01 16:27] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): "I will wait here then and try to think of something we might be able to do to help with the situation"
[2023/10/01 16:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: The fairy godmother is easy to find, just follow the swearing. In the kitchen, there's what looks like an old woman with typical farmers' wife dress and pinafore, with pince nez glasses and wearing a poke bonnet. She has a large stick with a blue orb on the end, which must be her wand. "You'd think a farmhouse would have a pumpkin in the kitchen!"
[2023/10/01 16:28] Alicia Frakture: Leesha looks at the kitchen.Is there a goblin in here?
[2023/10/01 16:29] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Is it the right season for winter squash?" Debben inquires. "And does it need to be specifically a pumpkin for any reason?"
[2023/10/01 16:29] Sonja Bikergrrl: she doesn't look like a goblin, but, she doesn't much look like a fairy godmother either.
[2023/10/01 16:30] Sonja Bikergrrl: She notices you. "Ooh. You'll help? I need a pumpkin. It has to be a pumpkin for the spell to work, not a melon or a large grapefruit. But I can't find any pumpkins.... maybe there's one in the field, if you could go look and bring it back...?"
[2023/10/01 16:31] Alicia Frakture: /me nods."We can go check."
[2023/10/01 16:31] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Just out the back... one pumpkin, if you would!"
[2023/10/01 16:33] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "I'll give Dhalia a heads up," dipping back to the front to inform their healer and the distraught young goblin. "Fairy says she needs a pumpkin. Any idea where we'd look other than just in the backyard? you -did- search your own backyard, right?" She directs this last to the farm-maid
[2023/10/01 16:33] Alicia Frakture: Leesha nods and begins walking out the door, pausing."What else do you need? Not pulling that back and forth stuff." She also waits for Debben."Let's grab Dahlia too I hear splitting the group is bad
[2023/10/01 16:33] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): "Oh I can come help, it might be fun picking pumpkins"
[2023/10/01 16:34] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Oh, no. I just sweep the porch. If she says the pumpkin is out the back in the field, that's where it is!"
[2023/10/01 16:35] Alicia Frakture: Leesha heads out to the field making sure to be slow enough that Debben adn Dahlie get up and they move as a group
[2023/10/01 16:36] Sonja Bikergrrl: Out in the field... it's mostly grass, rather like a common area in a village. There's a rather large pumpkin growing in the middle, with a few clumps of plants and small bushes dotted about
[2023/10/01 16:36] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "It's your ball you want to go to, you should help search." Debben rolls her eyes at the maid and heads back out.
[2023/10/01 16:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: "But I can only sweep the porch!"
[2023/10/01 16:37] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Says who?"
[2023/10/01 16:38] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me moves towards the pumpkin, "This one should do nicely"
[2023/10/01 16:38] Alicia Frakture: Leesha follows.
[2023/10/01 16:38] Sonja Bikergrrl: The goblin puts her hands on her hips. She opens her mouth, closes it again, then just shakes her head and grabs the broom, starts sweeping vigorously. "Some heroes... asking for the distressed maiden to help them!"
[2023/10/01 16:39] Sonja Bikergrrl: d20, Dahlia
[2023/10/01 16:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: ...nat 20...
[2023/10/01 16:40] Alicia Frakture: O.O
[2023/10/01 16:41] Sonja Bikergrrl: Dahlia notices one of the larger clump of plants quivering as she approaches. She can see a large bulbous flowerbud... and it suddenly, but very briefly, as a lurid red tongue lick itself, like a hungry dog seeing a nearby bone...
[2023/10/01 16:41] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Oh I'm asking you to help yourself. What do you plan to do next week when some other problem befalls you? Wait around for another random gang to wander by?"
[2023/10/01 16:42] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me stops , and watches the flower while speaking towards Leesha and Debben, "This field is not safe, there is some sort of monstrous plant ahead, and it looks hungry..."
[2023/10/01 16:43] Alicia Frakture: *It's night time, right?*
[2023/10/01 16:44] Sonja Bikergrrl: Hard to say what time exactly. It's probably early evening here, but the sky is hazy and cloudy. It's still light.
[2023/10/01 16:44] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "...ok, if your back forty has killer plants in it maybe that's a decent excuse. I feel like you could have warned us about that though."
[2023/10/01 16:45] Sonja Bikergrrl: Cinderella just keeps on sweeping vigorous, ignoring all comments
[2023/10/01 16:46] Alicia Frakture: /me grumbles."Ignore her Debben, she's a freakin princess. Completely useless. Grin and bear it until someone comes and saves them."
[2023/10/01 16:48] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben looks into the kitchen to inquire if the fairy godmother is aware of the giant pumpkin-eater in the backyard.
[2023/10/01 16:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: "What? A pumpkin-eater? Well hurry up, before the pumpkin gets et!"
[2023/10/01 16:49] Alicia Frakture: *this is a farm, any chance of a scythe or a sickle?
[2023/10/01 16:50] Sonja Bikergrrl: There's a number of such implements propped up against the side of the farmhouse.
[2023/10/01 16:51] Alicia Frakture: Leesha grabs the biggest scythe she can reasonably carry. and approaches the pumpkin. "If we get this, you two owe us big time."
[2023/10/01 16:51] Sonja Bikergrrl: well... this should be good... what're you going to do?
[2023/10/01 16:51] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben will go pick up a scythe, setting it's blade to the 'long' position to be more spear like. "It's a plant, Leesha. No need to rush the thing."
[2023/10/01 16:53] Alicia Frakture: /me nods."Dahlia, you got any non healing stuff you can use to help us?"
[2023/10/01 16:55] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: How -big- did you say this evil pumpkin was?
[2023/10/01 16:55] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): /me she thought a moment on all the varied magics her Goddess allowed her so far before answering, "No spells or anything like that but I do have my flail and my sling for that awful plant"
[2023/10/01 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: The pumpkin is quite big... about half as big as Debben
[2023/10/01 16:56] Sonja Bikergrrl: (I know that's freakishly huge for a pumpkin!)
[2023/10/01 16:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: The plant beside it - about as big, but it's not a pumpkin, more a bush with a big flower the size of a large head
[2023/10/01 16:57] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Miss Fairy, do you need the pumpkin intact?"
[2023/10/01 16:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Well of course I need the pumpkin intact! What do you think I'm going to use it for, to make a pie for Cinderella?"
[2023/10/01 16:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Just four weeks ago we had exactly that quest, I will have you know."
[2023/10/01 16:59] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is slowly approaching the big flower head
[2023/10/01 16:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Then you should be experts at retrieving fruits and vegtables!"
[2023/10/01 16:59] Sonja Bikergrrl: The big flower head swings round to face Leesha
[2023/10/01 17:01] Alicia Frakture: Leesha smirks as she pulls some bacon, some cheese and an apple from her bag."Who has the dressing? It's about to be salad time." *Trying for intimidation*
[2023/10/01 17:02] Sonja Bikergrrl: The plant doesn't answer. The fairy godmother does, though. "What is this, lunch time?"
[2023/10/01 17:02] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben grimaces at the memory of how the pie quest went, and sneaks out back to assist Leesh by flanking the.... plant.
[2023/10/01 17:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: The flowerhead swings round to face Debben
[2023/10/01 17:03] Alicia Frakture: /me Leesha nods."Yeah as soon as I make the SALAD!" AS she swings the scythe around looking to drive the point of it right through the top of the flowerhead.
[2023/10/01 17:03] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): moves up between the two but staying back some
[2023/10/01 17:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: d20, Leesha
[2023/10/01 17:04] Alicia Frakture: *16 with +1 to hit so 17*
[2023/10/01 17:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: d8 for a scythe, I think, it's a big blade
[2023/10/01 17:05] Alicia Frakture: *With bonus that's 8 points of damage*
[2023/10/01 17:05] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: That's a sort of flanking! getting the plant to face -away- from their most dangerous party member.
[2023/10/01 17:06] Alicia Frakture: *oohhh if I were a rogue that would be such a backstabbing bonus*
[2023/10/01 17:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's hard to tell what, if any, damage has been done to the plant, but it's a good hit. The flowerhead swings round to Leesha, and quickly shoots forward, the flower head opening up to reveal a mouth full of rather sharp teeth....
[2023/10/01 17:07] Alicia Frakture: Since the Scythe was not removed Leesha is going to hold tight to keep its head at bay
[2023/10/01 17:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: -.-
[2023/10/01 17:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: d20, strength check, roll under 14
[2023/10/01 17:08] Sonja Bikergrrl: a 12... goda...
[2023/10/01 17:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: The plant thrashes about, and Leesha manages to hold on tight
[2023/10/01 17:09] Alicia Frakture: Cut it off at the stem!" She calls out
[2023/10/01 17:09] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben leaps forwards to swing her spear-scythe at the stem!

[2023/10/01 17:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: The plant practically explodes in leaves and petals and fronds.
[2023/10/01 17:11] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Double check the roots," she says, eyeing the remains suspiciously.
[2023/10/01 17:11] Sonja Bikergrrl: The roots are underground.
[2023/10/01 17:12] Alicia Frakture: Roll the pumpkin out of here, I have an idea
[2023/10/01 17:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "On it," she reports, moving down to pick up the pumpkin
[2023/10/01 17:12] Alicia Frakture: Leesha is going to light a torch and burn whatever remains above ground of the plant.
[2023/10/01 17:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: The pumpkin is quite easy to move, despite its' vast size. The fairy godmother watches as you bring it to the farmhouse. "Great! You got the pumpkin. Now, we just need two mice."
[2023/10/01 17:13] ɗίηα ωíƖɗę ღ (dinadrone): "I can help roll it", moves to help with the moving of the pumpkin
[2023/10/01 17:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: And on that... we have a good cliffhanger for next time!
[2023/10/01 17:14] Alicia Frakture: Nice, good game :)
[2023/10/01 17:14] Sonja Bikergrrl: I better get to sleep fast, I'm already tired from last week
